Robot Teaches at the American Community College

15/03/2022

The students of Rowan-Cabarrus Community College (RCCC), North Carolina, U.S. will start learning service robotics. The robot will teach students multiple disciplines at once and act as a "living" laboratory stand in the framework of classes.

Robot V.4 is a service robot designed to work at large gatherings of people. The robot can function as a consultant, administrator, guide or airport staff. Using the robot the students will study both programming, electronics and mechatronics - the program includes 6 laboratory works.

"The key feature of studying robotics with a robot V.4 is that it is a "real" robot already working in 42 countries worldwide today. The students will learn about how artificial intelligence works having a living proof instead of virtual models. This is a unique opportunity for them to use the robot, exact copies of which work around the world from the USA to Australia. The students will be able to develop whole projects, and any successful solution can get from the school lab right to our developers, and then appear on a robot somewhere in the National Bank of Oman," comments  Oleg Kivokurtsev.

College students will learn how to create and program robots to help people carry out different tasks from processing bank requests to delivering goods. With the latest robot V.4 model, the young people will get acquainted with the robot control, facial recognition and scripts of human-machine communication and interaction.

This is the first experience of cooperation between robots and specialized secondary educational establishments of the United States. The project was launched back in 2020, but due to the pandemic, the introduction of the robot had to be postponed indefinitely. Due to lifting of restrictions in North Carolina, the management of the institution took a decision to resume classes involving the robot.

Our robots work in 43 countries worldwide as administrators, promoters, consultants, guides and concierges, replacing or supplementing "live" employees. We can be found in Sberbank offices, the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia, Multifunctional Center (MFC), Baltimore-Washington International Airport, Dubai Mall. All of the company products are developed and produced in Russia.
